Discover and Live your Dream (Part 4)

Posted by Tobias on February 28, 2015 at 4:55 PM Comments comments (0)

Now that you’ve discovered your dream in step 4 of Uddeśa Meditation, step 5 will guide you to live your dream and make you realize that there is a way to actually live your dream even if it looks impossible at first. With daily practice of step 5, you’ll move closer to living your dream. Remember, to live your dream and fulfill your purpose won’t happen quickly, it’s a journey that you’ll embark on, but with each passing day, you’ll move closer to living an authentic life, the life you were meant to live.

In step 5 of Uddeśa Meditation you have to contemplate one single thought on how you will be able to realize your dream. There will be many things that you have to do and change in your live to achieve this. But secret is to be patient and taking it one step at a time to reach your goal. Ignore the negative thoughts of that it is impossible or too difficult to reach my goal. Every time a negative thought enters your mind, go back to step 4 and visualize and feel the joy when you live your dream. Relive that feeling of utter happiness you experienced when you discovered your dream,

When you’ve filled your heart with happiness again, move to step 5 and contemplate one single thought on how you will achieve your goal. In the day or days that follow, take action to actually doing something constructive to achieve this step. It doesn’t have to be a big step, but with each small step, you move closer to living your dream. Repeat your meditation daily and ending it off by contemplating the first step you should take to realize your dream.

When you’ve completed the first step, meaning that you did a physical action towards your dream, you’re ready to move on to the second step. Do the same routine as in step 1 until you’ve incorporated the second step in your life. Now you’re ready to meditate on step 3, do it and move on to step 4. Repeat this process until you’ve reached your goal and you’re living a life with purpose, a life filled with happiness.

This process can take months, even years before you’ve completed all the steps, but just keep on believing that at the end you’ll be living the life you’ve always wanted. Some step will be more difficult than others to incorporate in your life and will take a lot of consideration and planning, but with daily meditation, your mind will reveal the way to you. You will find a solution to any problem or obstacle that’s preventing you from reaching your goal, you will discover what the reason for your existence is. Just keep on meditating on each individual step you have to take to reach your destination, to living a meaningful life.

And when you are living your dream, never stop meditating and be thankful for the life you have, be thankful that you are one of only a few people who are fulfilling their calling. You are one of a few people whose life will be the legacy they leave behind, the day they pass away. So my friends, let your life be an inspiration for other people and that your life’s legacy lives on for many years to come.

Let Peace be with you and have a Blissful day

In part 1 of this writing I've guided you through the steps to erase all negative energy from your mind and heart by following the first 3 steps, (1) Find a peaceful place in nature, (2) Erase negative energy with breathing exercise and (3) Imagine the bright light of the sun illuminating your whole being. Discover and Live your Dream (Part 1)

In part 3 of this writing, you will rediscover the dream you had for your life before it got buried under all the negative influences of modern society.

In this writing you’ll be guided through Uddeśa Meditation, the authentic meditation technique, in discovering your purpose in life, the reason for your existence. This fourth step is the essential part of discovering your dream.

With your mind at complete silence and peace after completing steps 1, 2 and 3 you’ll start delving deep into your subconscious mind, reliving all the moments in your life when you were at your happiest. Start at your childhood and take your mind on a wonderful journey of reliving the highlights of your life up to the present time. If negative or bad memories come up, acknowledge them, but as soon as you can, bring your mind back to remember all your happiest moments. These joyful moments should not be attached to any materialistic or self-fulfilling achievements, but to happy memories on a spiritual or humanitarian level.

Relive all the times in your life, where your heart was filled with joy caused by doing something good for someone else or by witnessing an act of unselfish goodness by another person. Even the feeling of admiration you felt when reading or hearing a person’s story of courage and accomplishment is an important joyful memory. The answer to your purpose or goal in life is locked up In these memories that touched your heart and brought tears of happiness to your eyes.

Through routinely practicing Uddeśa Meditation, and reliving these heartfelt moments of joy and appreciation, you’ll realize that one specific memory will surface above the others. This one specific memory is the key to your own happiness. From this point on, when you get to step 4 of Uddeśa Meditation, replace the exercise of remembering all the happy moments in your life with this one thought, the memory that filled your heart and soul with the most joy.

By meditating daily on this one memory that brought you the most joy, will make it a reality for you and you’ll be motivated to have your whole life filled with this happy memory. You’ll long for that every day of your life will be filled with this heartfelt happiness.

When you reach this point, where you wish for that your whole life is filled this one specific memory of joy, then you’ve discovered your dream, your purpose in life. Now you know what you have to do to fill your life with happiness.

At first this way of thinking is difficult to grasp, but with regular exercise of your mind, you’ll discover your hidden dream. In my next writing I’ll guide you on how to live this dream you’ve discovered, how to make your dream come true and to fulfill your purpose.

While you're busy practicing the afore said, in part 2 of this writing I want to emphasize to you why it's so important for us to follow and live our dream.

There are many reasons why it's so important to live your dream. Each one of us was placed here on earth for a purpose and until we fulfill our calling in life, we will never reached our end destination and the destination is a place where our whole being is filled with love, peace and bliss. We all long for a life where every day is filled with joy, where our worries and concerns seem insignificant. When living your dream becomes your primary and only goal in life, then when things go wrong, you won't get upset or sad or depressed about it, but you'll know that everything happens for a reason and when you encounter a problem or set-back, you'd know it happened for to make you wiser or steering you closer to reaching your goal - to fulfilling your purpose.

Living your dream will not only benefit you in so many ways, but society will also reap the rewards of you fulfilling your purpose. Firstly, when you discover and live your dream, your life will be filled with happiness, because you're doing something that you want to do and not what you are told to do. You will be set free from the expectations, demands and requirements society imposes on you. You will be living a life that you choose to live and you couldn't care if other's approve of it or not, for the reward of living happily is bigger than any disapproval from others. And when your life is filled with happiness, all the other virtues within you will manifest themselves. Happiness has such a positive effect on our lives, that we start loving our lives, ourselves and others. And by loving ourselves and others, gives birth to all                                                                                                               11 Virtues of The Way.

By living a life based and filled with purpose, free from the modern demands of money, ego and materialism, you will discover what life is really about and why everything you've been thought is all lies. The only truth lies deep within your heart and by delving into our subconscious mind we will discover our goal in life and by living the life we were meant to live, we will feel complete, no more envying other's lives and freedom from the desire to impress others and conform to society's expectations. To conclude, living your dream, will set you free from all limitations and fill your life with love and happiness.

Discover and Live your Dream (Part 1)

Posted by Tobias on February 17, 2015 at 12:30 AM Comments comments (0)

We all have a dream for our life, a lifestyle we all long for, but unfortunately with getting caught up in our daily grind to make a living, our dreams get buried underneath all the stresses and expectations that our current lifestyle demands from us. The result is that our lives are filled with unhappiness because the life we’re living is so far from our authentic self, so distant from our dream. At the end we completely forget about the dream we had for our life and instead of living your life, we’re just trying to make a living. But there is a way to rediscover your dream and finding a way to live it.

Firstly we have to remove ourselves from our current lifestyle, even if it’s only for a few days, away from everything and everyone, away from all technology and other influences and distractions. Find a place where you can be alone with your own thoughts and space. A place like a mountain hiking trail or a deserted beach or anywhere you feel comfortable with and where you’ll have complete silence, except from the sounds of nature like breaking waves, a soothing waterfall or just hearing the wind. A place where you can connect with nature and all the natural beauty around you, like admiring a beautiful sunset or just watching the clouds moving by in the sky. The idea is to appreciate nature again and to become part of it.

By reconnecting with nature, you’ve already completed the first step to discovering your authentic self and the life you are supposed to live. Nature will fill your mind with a sense of peace and will help to clear your mind from all concerns or worries and making it receptive to rediscovering your true self and the dream you had for your life. Now you are ready for the second step.

In the second step you will erase all negative energy in you and fill your mind and heart with positive thoughts. Find a comfortable place for you to sit and close your eyes. Breathe in through your nose and exhale through your mouth. Concentrate on your breathing, feel the clean air filling your lungs when you inhale and feel all the toxic air leaving your body when you exhale. Take slower and deeper breaths with each time you inhale and exhale. Just concentrate on your breathing, other thoughts will come up, but just acknowledge them and without thinking about the thoughts that came up, bring your mind back to concentrating on your breathing. And with each breath, take it deeper and slower. Each time you inhaling love and peace and happiness and with exhaling you’re breathing out all the worries, anxieties and darkness in your life. With each breath you feel more at peace and your worries become less and less.

With the third step imagine a beautiful sunrise in your heart and with each minute that goes by, the light of the sun is shining brighter, while still taking deeper and slower breaths. Imagine the sun lighting up your whole being, replacing all the darkness in you. The bright light of the sun illuminating every single cell in your body. Your whole body becomes a bright light in this dark world. Your whole being is glowing in love and peace and happiness. Again, other thoughts will come up, but just refocus on this bright light inside of your heart. At this point you feel completely at peace, all concerns and darkness has been erased from your mind and heart. The only emotion you’re experiencing now is complete and utter peace, you’re mind has gone quiet and you’re feeling a sense of indescribable joy.

At this point you are ready to move onto the fourth step and most important step, the essence of Uddeśa meditation, discovering the goal of your life.

In part 2 of this post I’ll guide you on discovering your dream, your goal in life and reveal how living your dream, will release you from the captivity that modern society enforces on you.

A Life of Everlasting Happiness

Posted by Tobias on February 10, 2015 at 12:55 AM Comments comments (0)

Everybody longs for a life where every day is filled with happiness. To most of us, our happiness is determined by our external circumstances, when things go the way we want it to go or anticipated it to go, then we're happy, but as soon as things don't go our way, our happiness is replaced with anger or disappointment or sadness. Often our happiness is also determined by things out of our control, like the crime rate or the bad economy or by the way we get treated by people. We allow all these external factors to determine our happiness even when have no control over them.

But what you do have control of, is your own happiness. Happiness is a choice, you can choose to be happy or to be unhappy, irrespective of your circumstances. We mostly can't control our circumstances or what bad experiences we might have to endure, but the secret to everlasting happiness is how you react when you're taken out of your comfort zone and things our going wrong for you. You can choose to be unhappy when something bad happens to you or you can choose for it not to steal your joy.

No matter what your circumstances are, unpleasant things will cross your path, things that will have the power to steal your joy. From there the saying "Money can't buy you happiness". Some of the richest people in the world are some of the unhappiest people in the world. That's why it's so difficult to understand why a famous and rich person commits suicide. You'd ask yourself why, they had the world at their feet and could buy everything their heart desired. So you can be happy or unhappy, irrespective if you're rich or poor. So never think more money will make you happy. It most probable will cause you more unhappiness.

Like I've said, happiness is a choice, but that's easier said than done. We need a complete mindset change on how we view or react to our circumstances. When some bad happened to us, it's a waste of time and energy to worry about it. It is what it is and thinking or regretting it, will drain your from your happiness and destroy your karma. And we all know that bad karma creates more bad karma, resulting in more things going wrong for us. We should have a complete attitude adjustment to the way we react to our circumstances and certain situations.

The best way to retain your happiness and optimism through trying times, is to have the mindset of what ever bad is happening to me know will pass. Train your mind to see the positive in any bad situation. Learn from each bad experience, with the knowledge that everything, good or bad, happens for a reason. You might not know why you are going through a bad experience, but in time you'll realize why you had to go through it, because later in your life you'll be faced with a similar situation and you'll be able to deal with it, without losing your happiness.

But the strongest force preventing a bad situation stealing your happiness, is ironically, to help somebody else who is going through a difficult time. You can help other people who are suffering in so many ways, but the most powerful way of helping them is just to be there to lend a sympathetic hear and just encourage them, reminding them that what ever they are going through now won't last, that things will change and that it will go better again. By doing that, you'll empower yourself to deal with any problem that you're experiencing. By helping other people with their problems, you will realize that everybody has problems and most people's situations are worse than yours. It will make you appreciate for what you have and how many people has less than you. This appreciation and thankfulness will enable you to retain your happiness.

In conclusion: To have everlasting happiness - help others through their difficult times and remember that in every dark cloud there is a silver lining, in other words, every bad experience will give birth to more happiness in your life.

There are many different meditation techniques, each one with it’s own purpose and benefit. Meditative practices have existed for centuries in the east and it’s only in the last few years that western society started to practice meditation. And meditation is the fastest growing spiritual practice in the Western world as people are realizing and experiencing the power of meditation.

Can you live an Authentic life in Modern society?

Posted by Tobias on February 10, 2015 at 12:40 AM Comments comments (0)

The answer to this question is more complicated than just a yes or no answer. Firstly you have to define what an authentic life is and secondly what the definition of modern society is.

An authentic life is living a life true to yourself. A life filled with love, peace and joy. A life in which you feel free to be yourself, without the fear of judgment by others. To live and authentic life is the freedom to follow your heart and to live the life that will make you happy.

But to live that life, you firstly need to connect with your inner self. Most people don't take the time or have the time to discover themselves. It's only when you truly know yourself, that will enable you to realize what it is that really makes you happy and at peace. Unfortunately discovering our true selves is not that easy due to the conditioning and influence of modern society. Many people believe that if they had a lot of money, that they'll be happy, because they blame their unhappiness on the lack of money. But nothing can be further from the truth - money can't buy you happiness.

One's happiness is determined by how closely we live to our authentic self. For example if you're an accountant, but your passion is to work at a wildlife sanctuary, you'll be unhappy, even if you earn a good salary. So the secret is to discover your passion and to live it. When you're doing something that fills your heart and soul with happiness, then love and peace will also become part of your life and you'll be moving closer to living your authentic life.

I said "your authentic life", because every one of us has a different passion and purpose. So it's impossible to define an authentic life, because each one of us will find happiness in a different place. But the common denominator is that each one of us will be living an authentic life and by doing so, we'll connect with people on a deeper level because we are at peace with our lives. There is no competition, no envy, just love for each other.

To define modern society is much easier, it is all about money, power and ego. Your self-worth is measured in

materialistic possessions and not by your happiness. You

are conditioned by modern society's laws and regulations and have no freedom to be yourself. Your whole being and thinking revolves around the expectations of society and these expectations force you to live a life so far from your authentic self, that you forget who you really are, making you loose that connection with your inner self.

In short an authentic life is a living a life that makes you happy because you're following your passion and not the money.

Modern society on the other hand is all about money and materialistic possessions.

This brings us back to the question: "Can you live an authentic life in modern society?" My view is no, you can't.

Even if you live your passion and what ever you're doing is exactly in accordance with your authentic self, you still need to make money to survive in modern society and money is the barometer of modern society. Eventually you'll succumb to temptation or need of money, even if your doing exactly what your suppose to do, you'll try to figure out a way to make more money with what ever you're doing. So money becomes your deciding factor again and not happiness. And when you're neglecting your happiness for money, you are moving away from your authentic self.

So my view is that you can live an authentic life in modern society, but it will be short lived before you succumb to

modern society's expectations and influence. So to live and everlasting authentic life, we'll need to remove ourselves

from modern society and live a simple life, where we'll have time to see to other's needs and not just our own self

indulgence.

The Secret to a life filled with Joy and Peace

Posted by Tobias on February 10, 2015 at 12:35 AM Comments comments (0)

Most people determine their joy and peace by their circumstances. But our circumstances change almost on a daily basis and as a result of this our emotional well being. Depending on our circumstances we can feel on top of the world or down in the dumps. But there is a way to feel on top of the world every day, irrespective of your circumstances.

The secret to happiness and peace is Meditation. It enables you to change your mindset – not to let your circumstances determine your happiness and peace. There are many things in life that are beyond our control, but it is possible to control our state of mind. Meditation is the most important thing we can do, and it is the only real antidote to our own personal sorrows, and to the anxieties, fears, hatreds, and general confusions that beset the human condition.

Meditation is a means of transforming the mind. Meditation encourages and develops concentration, clarity, emotional positivity, and a calm seeing of the true nature of things. With meditation you’ll learn the patterns and habits of your mind, and cultivate new, more positive ways of being. With regular work and patience these nourishing, focused states of mind can deepen into profoundly peaceful and blissful states of mind. Meditation will give you a new understanding of life.

There are countless meditation techniques you can practice with different approaches, but the foundation of all of them, however, is the cultivation of a peaceful and blissful state of mind.

Living without Regrets but with Reason

Posted by Tobias on February 10, 2015 at 12:35 AM Comments comments (0)

How many times do we say “I regret doing that” or “I regret not doing that”. How often do we look back on our lives and thinking “I should have rather done that” or “I wish I didn’t do that”. This way of thinking drags our spirit down, making us feel unhappy and depressed.

We can’t help thinking about our past and having regrets, but the secret is to change the way you view your regrets or mistakes. No decision you’ve made is a mistake. The mistakes you’ve made in the past is just a way to change the course of your life. Each one of us has a purpose to fulfill. You might not know what it is yet, but the mistakes we’ve made changed the course of our lives, bringing us closer to fulfill our divine purpose in life.

Replace the word “Regret” with “Reason”. When you look back on your past, don’t regret your decisions, but try to discover what the reasons are for those decisions. You will realize that each “mistake” you’ve made has a reason to it. A failed marriage could mean that the person you were with, might have hold you back from the life you were meant to live. That promotion you didn’t get at work, means that it was not meant to be. You have a higher purpose in life – analyze each “mistake” and you’ll find the reason why.

Where you are right now is where you are meant to be. Your “mistakes” guided you to where you are now. All the heartache and pain you’ve experienced is the key to your purpose in life. Every disappointment makes us grow stronger, equipping us to help others. See your past as your schooling – the more pain and struggle you experience – the stronger you’ll get to fulfill your purpose.

Remember, nothing happens to you but happens for you. There is a reason why things happened to you and your duty is to discover the reason.

There are no regrets, just reasons.

Money makes us Poor

Posted by Tobias on February 10, 2015 at 12:30 AM Comments comments (0)

In modern society our success is measured in how much money we have. Money gives people the sense of entitlement, the more money we have, the bigger our ego gets. The root to all unhappiness is money. Millions of marriages end up in divorce because of the lack of money or too much of it. People lose their humanity because of money, it becomes their sole driving force in life. Money becomes people’s god, they spend all their time trying to make money or thinking about money.

But money can’t buy you happiness or any other virtue. Money makes us blind to the important things in life, like love, happiness and compassion. We get so caught up in our daily grind to make a living that we forget to live life. The quest for money makes us spiritually poor, we don’t take time to think about life and to discover our purpose in life because out whole being is consumed by the love of money.

There are still societies in the world that live without money. In modern terms they are poor, but spiritually they are the richest people in the world. The live a humble life, but they are happy. They all work together to help each other, they have a strong bond with their families and they love one another. These societies take time out to practice their spiritual traditions and to become better people. Money has no value to them, their wealth is measured by their love and compassion for each other.

Unfortunately we need money to survive in modern society. But that is all money should be to us, to survive, to put food on the table, to put clothes on our bodies and to put a roof over our heads. That is all money should be to us, just a means to survive. We should use our time to enrich our lives with the spiritual virtues. Our lives will be filled with love and peace if we have compassion for others and by helping others, we will have a rich soul. We will experience a happiness that no money can buy us.

The daily grind to make money consumes our time. It makes us numb to our spiritual needs. Time is a precious commodity and we have to use it wisely.

We should use our time to enrich our lives and not try to get rich.

Discovering your authentic self

Posted by Tobias on February 10, 2015 at 12:30 AM Comments comments (0)

The key to a blissful life filled with love and peace is to live a life true to yourself. With the conditioning of modern society and the pressures of our daily grind to make a living, our minds get consumed by the lifestyle society expects from us. Where we live, what car we drive, what clothes we wear, what we eat, how we behave is all determined by society’s standards. To be truly free, we have to release ourselves from society’s expectations.

The only way to discover your true self and to receive direction in our lives is to clear our minds from all our worries and anxieties. A simple life, free from all the complications of modern society, will enable us to live a joyful life. To attain clarity on the path we have to follow, we need to fill our minds with positive energy and to the only way to achieve this, is to take time out of our busy lives, surround us with nature and meditate on what really makes us happy.

Meditation is the most powerful practice in the world. There are many things in life that are beyond our control. However, it is possible to take responsibility for our own states of mind – and to change them for the better. Meditation is the most important thing we can do and it is the only real antidote to our own personal sorrows, and to the anxieties, fears, hatreds, and general confusions that beset the human condition.

Meditation is a means of transforming the mind. Meditation practices are techniques that encourage and develop concentration, clarity, emotional positivity, and a calm seeing of the true nature of things. By engaging with a particular meditation practice you learn the patterns and habits of your mind, and the practice offers a means to cultivate new, more positive ways of being. With regular work and patience these nourishing, focused states of mind can deepen into profoundly peaceful and energized states of mind. Meditation has a transformative effect and can lead to a new understanding of life.

There are many different meditation techniques, but all meditation has one common goal – to rid our minds of fears and anxieties, to bring us to a state of calmness and peace and when our minds our calm, intuitive revelations on how we should live our lives will manifest itself. If you’re new to meditation, start off slowly, remember it is a process. Start off by taking just a few minutes in the morning for yourself. Find a quiet place, where you won’t be disturbed and just concentrate on your breathing. Imagine on every inward breath that you’re inhaling peace and happiness and every outward breath that you’re exhaling al your fears, anxieties and darkness in your life.

From this simple start you will naturally progress to a deeper form of meditation and you will receive clarity on the path you should follow. You will discover your purpose in life and what you should do to make this world a better place for every living creature.

Each one of use has a purpose in life and our goal is to discover and live it

How many times do we feel or hear from others that life is getting to me. The perception of most people is that life is just too much, too complicated. The way we live our lives is the cause of all unhappiness, depression, drugs, suicide, divorces and even murder.

Modern society is all about money, because the law of modern society is that with money you buy your happiness, your love and your peace. But money is the root to a dysfunctional life. It is all about ego, image and materialistic possessions. We were taught to measure out self-worth according to the materialistic laws of society. From early in our lives were are conditioned to believe that we can only be happy if we are successful in our careers and earn a lot of money. And it never ends, the more you have, the more you want. Because with each materialistic goal you reach, the fulfillment is short lived and we move on to an even higher materialistic goal, for there’s always someone who’s got more than you.

The pursuit of happiness by accumulating materialistic possessions is the biggest lie of modern society. The belief is that the more you own, the happier you would be. That is so wrong! We all know the saying: “Money can’t buy you happiness”. So why devote your whole life to money? What does it really mean to have a fancy house our driving a luxury car? In our modern society nobody cares about what you have or who you are – everybody just cares about themselves. There is no community of loving people enjoying each other’s company and sharing inspiration for life. Every person is just out there for their own gain.

People are unhappy with their lives because they don’t have more money. This causes depression and pushes people to suicide and drugs. Most marriages end up in divorce because of money.

So the answer is so simple. Remove money as your driving force and goal in life.

The secret to a happiness, love and peace, is to find your purpose in life. Each one of us was put on earth to fulfill a task. And only when you release yourself from the day to day grind of making money and instead take time for yourself, you’ll never discover your purpose in life. Each one of us has a different purpose, our own purpose is defined by what suffering and pain we experienced in our lives. The secret is to grow and learn from your pain and to help others suffering the same pain. To encourage and help those people though their difficult times.

When you discover and live your purpose in life, you’ll experience heavenly love, peace and happiness. Your life will be complete, no more chasing after materialistic idols, but pursuing happiness by helping others, help other people to be happy and make them feel accepted by others. You can’t have what you don’t give. If you want love, show love to others and your life will be filled with love. If you want happiness, fill other’s lives with happiness and your life will overflow with happiness.

When you free yourself from the conditioning of modern society and the chase after money, you will experience the ultimate peace. You will be at peace with yourself, your circumstances and be at peace that you’ve made the world a better place by fulfilling your calling or purpose.
